Meet Brandon
This week, we’d like to introduce you to Brandon! Brandon started training as an apprentice craftsman under John III's tutelage over 25 years ago. Since he started all those years ago, he's become not only very experienced at repairing the jewelry you trust us with, but he's also won 15 design awards. We’re so thankful he is a part of the Stall & Kessler’s team, and we can’t wait for you to learn more about him as you read his response to a few questions. Did you always want to be a craftsman?
“No, but I always wanted to do something in the artistic field. Through a half-day work program, I was told to do an interview at Stall & Kessler's or be kicked out of the class. So, naturally, I did the interview. That way, I didn't have to go to school a full day. When I came in to Stall and Kesslers, they told me I'd have a chance to make my own stuff someday... and here I am 25 years later. I've won 15 awards...*smirks*”
What has changed in the profession in the 25 years you've been in this field of work?
“Everyone except Jeff...haha just kidding. The technology. Everything used to be done by hand, we now have computers and machines to aid in the process.”
What is one of your favorite pieces you've ever worked on?
“Oh boy, that's a hard one... Idk I've done so much, I honestly can't pick just one”
As mentioned, you've won a number of awards; Do you have any predictions as to future jewelry trends?
“I would say that the trend is going to be going back to being a little simpler, and thicker styles. I see the style looking wider, heftier and more substantial.”
