BTS: A Walk Through The Custom Process
Behind the Scenes: A Walk Through The Custom Process
In case you've never heard ... Stall & Kessler's can help fulfill all your custom jewelry desires! If you can dream it up, we can make it become a reality. Now, you may be asking, "Why would I choose to make a custom piece of jewelry?" Great question! Here are a few of the most frequent reasons ...
To own a one of a kind piece of jewelry...
Our craftsman, Brandon, has 25 years of experience. He is a national and international award winning artist with many talents. For this reason, many people want a completely original design that is truly one of a kind!
To ensure your wedding band contours perfectly to your engagement ring...
Often times, an engagement ring style is such that a straight band will fit flush against it. However, that isn't always the case. There are a few shapes of engagement ring center gemstones that make finding a matching band a bit tricky. These include oval, pear, and other elongated shapes. These intricacies are Brandon's area of expertise! He will take time to carefully measure your engagement ring and build a band that fits its unique curves precisley.
To merge different aspects of rings and get the best of both worlds...
You fell in love with two engagement rings, now what? You can choose which parts you like best about both rings and combine them!
You have beloved, pre-loved gemstones and aren't sure what to do with them...
Jewelry is a luxury item, and even when worn with care, can wear down over time. Well-loved pieces of jewelry tend to wear down even faster. With consistent upkeep, your jewelry can be kept in good condition and last several lifetimes! However, sometimes they've been passed down through several generations or just lived a harder than normal life and are beyond the point of repair. In that case, the best solution to an unrepairable piece of jewelry is to remount the gemstones into something entirely new!

Recreate a beloved piece of jewelry...
Finally, you may have photos of a family design or a previously loved piece of jewelry that you wish to replicate. Brandon is great at bringing ideas to life whether they're pre-existing/sentimental or brand new.
So, what category do YOU fall into, and how exactly can you get your hands on a custom piece of jewelry? Here's a brief overview of what the process looks like:
1. Decide what it is that you want. Pictures, desired metal type, any additional details...all are very helpful in creating your piece. If you think you have an idea of what you want but aren't sure on the details, you can always stop in to sit down with Brandon and he can help you nail down the details.
2. After Brandon is given your inspiration, with just $300 down, he will begin your project! Using a CADCAM program, he will create a 3D render of your piece. You can come in to look at it (or we can send photos via text or email) and make any tweaks to the design at that time.
3. After the design is approved, Brandon will then send your render to the caster to receive a quote for the casting.
4. Quote approved, the casting and stones will be ordered. The amount of time to receive the casting in store varies, but once it arrives Brandon will begin mounting any stones, polishing, and putting any finishing touches on it.
5. Voila! You have a custom-made piece of jewelry!
