Meet Melissa
Meet Melissa
This week, we’d like to introduce you to Melissa! Melissa has been with Stall & Kessler’s since March of 2016. She is one of our incredibly gifted sales associates. Melissa is especially talented in making people feel right at home even when making big life decisions. Her passion, attention to detail, and organizational giftedness are what drive her success. Melissa's most recent accomplishment is the completion of Diamond Grading courses through the Gemological Institute of America. This has now qualified her to offer appraisal services! We’re so thankful she is a part of the Stall & Kessler’s team, and we can’t wait for you to learn more about her as you read her response to a few questions. We’ve included those below; please read & enjoy!
Q: What is one of your favorite things about the wonderful world of jewelry?
A: There are so many fun and wonderful things about my job, but at the top of the list would have to be the people, both the customers and my co-workers! I thoroughly enjoy making people smile. I love helping customers and doing my best to make them feel welcome, breaking the ice by making them smile or having a little laugh together. I try to have fun at work, and my co-workers make that easy. If you enjoy what you do, you are never "going to work"!
Q: Can you tell us about a particularly meaningful/impactful story from a customer experience?
A: There have been so many memorable interactions. The ones that always stand out are interactions where we help people with family jewelry. Sometimes it's a very worn, well-loved item of jewelry from a late loved one or a wedding set of the couple who is celebrating 25 or 50 years. My favorite thing is seeing restoration or redesign of their original jewelry and the subsequent falling in love with it all over again. Their faces light up ... it's awesome!!!
Q: Do you have any goals related to your work at Stall & Kessler’s?
A: One goal I have is to continue learning so I can better help our customers. We have a great staff with lots of knowledge they've gained from years spent in the jewelry industry. There is always something new to learn. Whether it's words of wisdom from Jeff's many years of experience, better understanding the repair and manufacturing of jewelry from Brandon who has been at the bench for 25 years, or Kris's guidance as our store leader and concentrating on great customer service, there is so much to take in! Plus, there are many oppurtunities available to us to further our education both in store and through distance learning! We can all learn something new every day, and we're encouraged to pursue continued education.
Q: What is your current favorite jewelry item in the store? Why?
A: The classics! They are timeless! I love beautiful solitaire diamond pendants, diamond stud earrings, and the clean line of a diamond tennis bracelet! All of these styles look amazing for any occasion. If worn with respect, you can pass it down to the next generation and it will still be a stylish, classic piece!
Q: What would be your advice for someone who is brand new to a sales role?
A: Have fun!!! Get to know your customers, be a good listener, be kind. When you enjoy yourself and what you do, your customers will see that. Again, just HAVE FUN!!!!
